JARRED ALTERMAN is a NYC based documentary filmmaker and DP, who won BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY at Tribeca Film Festival for CONTEMPORARY COLOR, a multi camera David Byrne concert/doc film directed by Bill and Turner Ross, featuring St. Vincent, Nelli Furtado, How to Dress Well, Zola Jesus, Ad-Rock, Money Mark and Dev Hynes. He has worked in music + dance related projects for over twenty years, including Charles Atlas and Merce Cunningham Dance Company and recently Arcade Fire. He photographed PROJECT X a short film by the Academy Award winning filmmaker Laura Poitras (Citzen Four) that played at Sundance ’17.
Recently he was Director of Photography for Bisbee ’17 a feature film dir. by Robert Greene and produced by Fourth Row films that premiered at Sundance Film Festival and The Proposal directed by Jill Magid that premiered at Tribeca Film Festival.
He is currently working with the artist and filmmaker Lawrence Abu Hamdan on the film and installation, Wall Unwalled, that will screen at The Tate in October 2018.
