Jarred Alterman is an award winning cinematographer & filmmaker who has worked in documentary, narrative, music & art related projects for over twenty years. He won best cinematography at Tribeca for the film Contemporary Color, (dir by Bill & Turner Ross) featuring David Byrne. Last year he lensed two films that were NY Times critics picks: Bisbee ’17 (dir. Robert Greene) and The Proposal (dir. Jill Magid).
He produced and lensed Walled Unwalled dir. by aural investigator and political artist Lawrence Abu Hamdan, which played at New York Film Festival, TIFF and won a Turner Prize at the Tate Modern.
He has shot films for Charles Atlas and the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, filmed Arcade Fire on the Everything Now tour and continues to shoot for Art:21 on PBS.
